CAMI Research Inc.(Acton, MA), manufacturer of the CableEye ®automation-ready cable and harness test system, has released an updated training and verification adapter board with user's guide. This multi-purpose CB-T2 fixture can be used for operator training, tester system verification, and facility verification. The CB-T2 is the default board included at no charge with all new systems and can be purchased separately.
The CB-T2 fixture is a great way to familiarize new employees with CableEye test units during their orientation. Training may be self-directed with this tool.
Populated with a few common connectors, the board allows trainees to methodically experience how the system responds to opens, shorts, miswires, diodes, resistance, capacitance, and intermittent connections while at the same time learning to operate the equipment.
The adapter board comes with identification LEDs for each connector that may be used to show the trainee operator which connector they must connect.
As a system verification tool, the CB-T2 allows customers to verify the tester is working properly by quickly sampling the full spectrum of fault detection without use of example fault cables. The limitation of physical fault cables is that typically one example is needed for each fault. Use of the CB-T2 will provide a faster and more thorough verification process. The verification cable itself may be learned on first use, and loaded thereafter prior to going through a simple fault simulation procedure.

CableEye software allows customers to meet the most exacting reporting requirements of government-contracted and ISO 9000-style certified companies.
All new testers ship ready-to-use with a two-year Product Support Subscription (PSS) comprising warranty, free tech support, complimentary software upgrades and more. The PSS is renewable, though not required for tester operation.
Available immediately, the CB-T2 is $255 (Item 802) and co-requires software release Build 1893 or later to enable Auto ID. Rated to 500 Vac/dc. Includes link to user’s guide, and two cables (miniDIN8 cable for power, and DB9 M-F cable for testing).

CableEye testers are highly versatile, expandable and upgradable diagnostic and Pass/Fail check Cable and Harness Test Systems that are PC-based. They are used for assembly, prototyping, production, and QC of standard or custom wire cables and harnesses The entire suite of products is powered by the same easy-to-use operating software and, with the help of its signature easy-to-interpret color-coded graphics, instantly identifies not only when there is a fault, but what type of fault and where.
Low Voltage M2 Series
For diagnostic and Pass/Fail Testing - Find, display, log, & document continuity (opens, shorts, miswires, intermittent connections).
Low Voltage M3 Series
For all of the above plus resistance (contact, isolation, embedded), and diodes (orientation, forward voltage, reverse breakdown).
Low Voltage M4 Series
For all of the above plus precision resistance (4-wire), and capacitance (twist wire relationship, length of cable, length to break, capacitors).
Low Voltage and High Voltage HVX Series
For all as described for M3 plus HiPot (dielectric withstand voltage and insulation resistance). 4-Wire Kelvin Measurement and Advanced Measurement Options (capacitance, twist wire relationship, length of cable, length to break, capacitors) are available.
